Welcome! Welcome to the grand opening of Soroptimist International of Lake Forest’s website. I am very honored to be the President who gets to welcome you to the launch of our venture onto the World Wide Web.
Every year our Club President chooses a theme. My theme is: "Pledging to the ideals of Soroptimism - Friendship, Achievement, Service, Profession, Country". Soroptimists will recognize this as a part of the Soroptimist Pledge. This pledge sounds like our country's "Pledge of Allegiance", so I call myself the "Patriotic President". It's been fun having a red, white, and blue year.
I'm very proud of my Club; they are working hard to promote Soroptimist. For the second year we have partnered with Breast Cancer Survivors by pledging dollars and minutes of volunteer time. We have participated in the three signature Soroptimist awards: Women’s Opportunity Award, Violet Richardson Award, and Making A Difference For Women Award. Our members helped out at the Komen Foundation Race for the Cure. We've given nearly 30 blankets to Project Linus. And now we are working diligently on our fundraiser so we can continue to work on all of these programs and more.
