Lorna began painting later in life, having raised a family of four before her genes pushed her into what was an exceptional ability in impressionistic oils. Lorna's grandmother had paintings exhibited in Midwest galleries at the turn of the century and her father was known as a pioneer in the field of fine arts printing. His books published under the name of Fine Arts Press, may be found in the special collections department of the Bowers Museum, The Huntington Library and the Southwest Museum, as well as numerous others.
Because of her late start, Lorna was driven to assimilate as much exposure as possible in a brief period from local artist. She also attended numerous seminars led by nationally known artists such as Ron McKee and Neil Boyle. She expanded her studies under Philip Rawson at the Royal College of Art in London. Her several trips to the UK, Scotland and Scandinavia provided her with an abundance of subjects and scenes. She has appeared semi-annually at the Beverly Hills Affaire in the Garden.
Lorna's paintings may be seen in such diverse places as Japan, the UK, Germany and Brazil. Her works may also be seen in movie sets as well as her miniatures at the Hotel Bel Air in Los Angeles.
Lorna is especially known for her floral and miniatures.
